Short Bio

Himawan Pratama is a lecturer at the Faculty of Humanities Universitas Indonesia. Since 2023, he has been serving as the Head of the Center for Japanese Studies at the same university. He is also an active member of the Indonesian Association for Japanese Studies (ASJI) and serves as a member of the steering committee of JSA-ASEAN. Himawan obtained his Ph.D. in Japan Studies from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. His research interests include cultural representations of otherness in various forms of contemporary Japanese media, spanning popular culture, mass media, and sporting narratives.
