Dr. Rohayati Paidi

Short Bio

 

Rohayati Paidi is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of East Asian Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Universiti Malaya. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Kobe University, followed by a Master’s from Shiga University in Japan, and completed her PhD at Universiti Malaya in Malaysia.
Her research centres on the transnational dissemination and reception of Japanese cultural elements beyond Japan’s borders. In 2018, she published Cosplay di Malaysia: Transmisi dan Integrasi Trait Subbudaya Jepun (Universiti Malaya Press), and has led several digital humanities initiatives, including Tracing the Footprints of Japanese Companies in Malaysia. She currently serves as President of the Malaysian Association of Japanese Studies.
