The 2nd International Conference on New Frontiers in Japanese Studies was hosted on August 27th and 28th, 2024 by the Center for Japanese Studies Universitas Indonesia (CJS UI) under the collaboration with the Japan Foundation. The event took place at the Auditorium of CJS UI from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM each day, and was participated by more than two hundred participants, including scholars and students.
The event was opened by Himawan Pratama, Ph.D., Head of CJS UI; Mr. Hoshino Daisuke, Director of Information and Culture Section of the Embassy of Japan in Indonesia; Yamazaki Takaya, Deputy Director Japanese Language Division of the Japan Foundation Jakarta; Dr. Philip Seaton from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies; and Dr. Akihiro Ogawa from the University of Melbourne. The event featured a diverse lineup of speakers and panelists, including Dr. Akihiro Ogawa and Dr. Johanna O. Zulueta as the keynote speakers, who shared their insights on new frontiers in Japanese Studies. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in interactive sessions.
